Job Description
Senior SAP ABAP Developer role at Parts Town, offering hybrid remote work in Addison, IL, with a focus on SAP S/4HANA and GTS.
Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, debug, support, maintain, and test SAP ABAP solutions that underpin SAP S/4HANA and GTS across the full lifecycle.
- Contribute across all phases from design through deployment and implementation.
- Collaborate with other technical groups, business leaders, and process owners.
- Engage with the business team including process owners, analysts, and functional engineers to capture data requirements.
- Conduct data profiling and analysis to establish, modify, and maintain data models.
- Support review, sign-off, and adoption of data models with global users, architecture, and delivery teams.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Drive processing automation and performance improvements.
- Ensure security and governance policy compliance.
- Participate in unit, integration, and user acceptance testing to ensure quality.
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication with experience working with business partners, vendors, and users.
- Working knowledge of key business processes such as sales order processing, purchasing, distribution, payables, and receivables.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Experience collaborating with SAP BSAs to translate functional requirements into technical specifications.
- Participation in at least one full SAP implementation lifecycle with post-production ABAP support experience.
- Strong SAP ABAP development skills and proficiency with the ABAP Workbench.
- Experience integrating SAP with external SQL Server based systems and applications.
- Hands-on experience building interfaces to non-SAP applications using RFCs, BAPIs, ALE/IDOC, ODATA, and Web Services.
- Experience with SAP enhancement techniques including EXITS, BADIs, and the new enhancement framework (AIF).
- Hands-on experience with SAP Fiori applications, including custom extension development and role, catalog, and group configuration.
- Experience designing and developing data dictionary objects such as data elements, domains, structures, views, lock objects, search helps, and output formatting for SAP documents.
- Bonus: bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent experience).
