Senior Braze CRM Developer

Location: Hybrid remote in Vienna, VA 22180 or Raleigh, NC. Onsite requirement: 2 days per week (required).

Compensation: $130,000 - $145,000 base salary (DOE).

Overview

The organization is seeking a Senior Braze CRM Developer to own and advance the technical execution of large-scale, omnichannel engagement programs. This hands-on role focuses on building, optimizing, and scaling Braze automation workflows while integrating with a broader digital ecosystem that includes customer data platforms, messaging tools, analytics, and content systems. Working closely with digital engineering leadership, the role will help shape personalization capabilities, elevate customer and patient engagement, and drive measurable performance improvements across multiple channels. It also contributes to platform evolution, architectural refinement, and experimentation across the marketing technology stack. The position follows a hybrid schedule based out of Vienna, VA or Raleigh, NC.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Marketing Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Hands-on experience building and managing Braze campaigns
• Strong working knowledge of Liquid templating, custom events, attributes, and Braze automation features
• Experience developing and maintaining API-based integrations and data flows
• Advanced SQL skills with the ability to work across complex datasets
• Proven ability to build, customize, and troubleshoot responsive HTML/CSS messaging assets
• Experience supporting multi-channel engagement strategies including email, SMS, push notifications, and in-app messaging
• Solid understanding of customer data structures, identity resolution, and communication preferences
• Experience working with agile delivery tools and technical documentation platforms
• Ability to collaborate effectively across technical, product, data, and marketing teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Active or prior Braze certification
• Experience working with customer data platforms and orchestration tools
• Familiarity with experimentation frameworks, including A/B and multivariate testing
• Exposure to broader Martech ecosystems such as CRM platforms, digital advertising tools, print and messaging vendors, or CMS solutions
• Background supporting regulated or compliance-conscious environments
• Working knowledge of privacy, consent management, accessibility, and security best practices

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain automated engagement workflows across multiple digital channels using Braze
• Apply advanced personalization logic leveraging data attributes, events, and templating
• Design and maintain integrations between Braze and upstream or downstream platforms, including APIs and webhooks
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business goals into scalable technical solutions
• Plan and execute testing strategies to measure performance, engagement, and conversion impact
• Monitor campaign health, troubleshoot delivery or segmentation issues, and continuously optimize results
• Support data model design, ingestion processes, and ongoing data quality initiatives
• Contribute to platform enhancements, migrations, and long-term architectural planning
• Ensure campaigns and integrations align with compliance, privacy, deliverability, and accessibility standards
• Maintain clear technical documentation and support collaborative development workflows
