Jr. Software Development Engineer - Jr. Developer Program

Amazon's Jr. Developer Program offers a year-round internship for aspiring software engineers in San Luis Obispo. This onsite role provides structured mentorship, combining part-time duties during the school year with full-time commitments in the summer, and a potential path to full-time employment after program completion. Compensation is hourly, ranging from USD 18 to USD 65 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Develop real software in collaboration with experienced engineers who provide guidance and opportunities for ownership.
• Operate as a fully integrated team member and regularly contribute to meaningful deliverables.
• Your designs and code will address complex technical challenges at Amazon.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university Bachelor's or Master's degree program.
• Graduating June 2028 and beyond.
• Majoring in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related STEM field.
• Ability to work year-round until graduation (part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer).
• Ability to work in person year-round at the San Luis Obispo corporate office. This role is not offered remote or hybrid and all working hours must be in office.
• Able to start work in June 2026.
• Must be living within commutable distance to San Luis Obispo, CA.
• Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, Python, or C++ including object-oriented design.
