Machine Learning Engineer II
Job Description
The Machine Learning Engineer II role supports Amazon’s MusicIQ team by building and evolving scalable, high-performance machine learning systems used for content intelligence and catalog serving. The position emphasizes machine learning infrastructure, model deployment to production, data pipeline development, and support for offline and real-time customer experiences.
What You’ll Do
- Improve core machine learning infrastructure for tagging music content and enhance music similarity capabilities.
- Work with research scientists to deploy scalable machine learning models to production, with a focus on improving model performance and architecture.
- Explore alternative design approaches, prototype new technologies, and assess technical feasibility, including approaches such as AutoML and real-time machine learning serving systems.
- Partner with scientists to design and build data pipelines that process large datasets and scale machine learning models.
- Create and maintain platforms and services used to build, evaluate, and deploy machine learning models for real-world applications.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- 1+ years of experience as a software development engineer or in a related occupation.
- 1+ years of experience designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.

Compensation and Location
Location: Seattle, WA (onsite)
Salary: USD 143,700 - 194,400 per year
