Machine Learning Engineer, Foundational AI (FAI)

Amazon’s Foundational AI (FAI) team is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA (onsite) to drive research and engineering for GenAI with LLMs.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of RL Gyms
• Assess the usefulness of RL Gyms for frontier model advancement
• Build techniques to advance the state of the art with LLMs
• Contribute to foundational model development in an applied research role
• Leverage Amazon’s heterogeneous data sources and large-scale computing resources to accelerate LLM progress

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 3+ years of computer science fundamentals experience, including:
  • Object-oriented design
  • Data structures
  • Algorithm design
  • Problem solving
  • Complexity analysis
• Experience in at least one of the following areas: machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics, or natural language processing

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience using managed ML/AI solutions

Compensation

• USD 165,200 - 223,600 per year
