Responsibilities
- Head the development of multimodal algorithms powering TikTok's short-form video business; explore applications of multimodal technologies in recommendations and other contexts to improve key metrics.
- Pursue cutting-edge research in multimodal and multimodal large language model technologies; craft advanced algorithms that meet business needs while pushing technical boundaries.
- Lead deployment and integration efforts, ensuring model stability, scalability, and efficiency in production environments.
- Contribute to AI platform design and development, including few-shot/zero-shot on MLLMs, AI labeling, auto prompting, active learning, continued pretraining, and reinforcement learning.
- Bridge content understanding with recommendation systems across UGC ecosystems, addressing cold start, interest exploration, and comment understanding.
- Apply multimodal techniques to build next-generation recommendation systems, including generative models and end-to-end approaches.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in multimodal content understanding, with strong expertise in large language models and familiarity with recent advances in the field.
- Solid technical foundation in at least one major deep learning framework (for example PyTorch or TensorFlow).
- Self-motivated with a strong ownership mindset, excellent communication, and ability to collaborate across teams.
- Hands-on experience deploying content understanding solutions in search, advertising, recommendation, or related domains.

- Base salary: USD 156,000 - 387,600 per year
- Compensation may vary outside this range based on qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location; base pay is part of the Total Package and may include discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units.
