Machine Learning Engineer

Hybrid role in Salt Lake City, UT focused on building and deploying advanced analytics systems that improve real business products. You will work on production-ready data science and AI applications, including text-based search and audio and video recording workflows, while maintaining the environments and software needed for ongoing maintenance.

What you’ll build and improve

• Build and deploy scalable analytical systems into production
• Turn data science proof-of-concept models into production-ready applications, applying industry standard software development principles
• Create data science applications for text-based search and audio and video recordings
• Evaluate algorithmic improvements using statistical modeling and A/B testing approaches
• Execute against the technical roadmap for data science products

How you’ll connect models to business impact

You’ll perform systems analysis, interpret results, and communicate findings to business stakeholders to improve products such as revenue management systems and a paid search bidding system. You will also document assigned project areas, including business objectives, data gathering and processing, leading approaches, final algorithm, detailed results, and analytical metrics.

LLM and AI model development

• Develop and optimize prompts for large language models (LLMs)
• Evaluate and fine-tune AI models to achieve desired outcomes for specific business applications
• Work with vector databases and embedding models using LLM endpoints

Collaboration and delivery

Collaborate with different teams to integrate and test data science and AI applications, ensuring solutions meet production requirements and continue to perform after deployment.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, or other engineering
• 3+ years of experience deploying advanced analytics solutions to drive business outcomes

Technology stack

SQL, Python, R, vector databases, embedding models, LLM endpoints, and large language models (LLMs).

Work environment

• Sedentary work in an office environment
• Limited lifting (less than 10 pounds) or walking required
• Close visual acuity required at a computer terminal
• No exposure to adverse environmental conditions
• Repetitive typing motion, talking, hearing, grasping, and feeling required
