Email Developer

Overview

The Email Developer provides technical leadership to the Marketing Team to enhance advisor experiences through Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Mailchimp, Constant Contact, and HubSpot. Responsibilities include coding, building, and testing email communications, SMS, and push notifications; developing and implementing marketing automation journeys; and supplying ongoing support for our email marketing systems and marketing automation platforms. The role partners with Technology to offer recommendations for Salesforce Marketing Cloud. This is an on-site role based in our North Scottsdale office. The facility is in a well-managed, secure building with covered parking, and the office features a fully stocked kitchen/break room in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions

• Code, build and test email communications, SMS messaging and push notifications
• Set up, test, QA and launch high-quality marketing campaigns utilizing dynamic content
• Monitor active campaigns daily and promptly troubleshoot to resolve errors
• Design emails and fix issues utilizing HTML/CSS and SFMC developer tools
• Refresh and modernize existing email templates
• Analyze campaign performance and suggest improvements
• Provide recommendations during project discovery and planning based on existing technology infrastructure
• Provide accurate estimates on marketing campaign development effort
• Partner with Business Stakeholders and Technology to establish and define business, technical and functional requirements during project planning
• Participate in working sessions with peers to review design specifications
• Collaborate with technical consultants in the development and integration of new applications
• Manage email databases, including merge, purge, dedupe, append, etc., and work with IT and vendors to ensure data synchronization with other related databases
• Manage calendars across multiple clients and campaigns to ensure on-time delivery and messaging progression
• WordPress website experience preferred

Qualifications

• HTML/CSS, JavaScript, SQL, AMPScript, and SFMC developer tools experience required
• 3+ years with Mailchimp, Constant Contact, and HubSpot experience required
• 5+ years of experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Sales Cloud objects, and Marketing Cloud Connect integrations
• Certifications in Salesforce products a plus: Marketing Cloud Developer, Marketing Cloud Email Specialist
• Understanding of CAN-SPAM and TCPA regulations, accessibility and email development best practices
• Proficient in responsive email design, ensuring rendering across ESPs, browsers, and devices
• Demonstrated experience partnering with other technical resources (internal and external) to implement Salesforce Marketing Cloud customizations
• Experience with email testing tools like Litmus or Email on Acid
• List management and segmentation experience a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Collaborative and respectful; team-oriented personality
• Ability to manage time effectively and consistently meet deadlines
