Android Mobile Developer

The Android Mobile Developer will design, develop, and maintain the Cracker Barrel Android application, collaborating with cross-functional teams and designers to deliver robust, high-quality mobile experiences.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional teams to plan, design, and implement new features for the Cracker Barrel Android application.
• Collaborate with designers to ensure the user interface and experience reflect Cracker Barrel's brand identity and standards.
• Integrate external APIs and data sources to provide dynamic content and functionality within the app.
• Write unit tests to verify robustness, covering edge cases, usability, and reliability.
• Continuously seek out and evaluate new technologies to improve development efficiency.
• Ensure the app's performance, quality, and responsiveness remain high.
• Identify bottlenecks and resolve bugs to enhance stability.
• Maintain code quality, organization, and automation in the development process.
• Monitor app performance and user feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge of modern Android architectural patterns.
• Experience with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
• Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines.
• Previous experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
• Proven experience in Android app development with at least one published original app.
• Strong knowledge of the Android SDK, multiple Android versions, and handling different screen sizes.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in mobile programming languages, including Kotlin, Java, and JavaScript.
