Sr. Mobile Developer

CGI Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Sr. Android and Kotlin Developer to design, build, test, and maintain modern Android applications. This is a full-time onsite role in Cary, NC, collaborating across product, UX, architecture, API, and engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing mobile experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Build scalable, reusable, and modular Android components using modern architecture patterns.
• Create responsive and accessible mobile experiences with Jetpack Compose and Material Design.
• Integrate applications with RESTful APIs and backend services using Retrofit.
• Develop asynchronous and reactive flows using Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.
• Apply architectural patterns including MVVM, MVI, Repository, and Clean Architecture.
• Implement unit, integration, and UI automation tests using JUnit, Espresso, and Jetpack Compose UI Testing.
• Troubleshoot and optimize applications for performance, reliability, resiliency, accessibility, and security.
• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with product, UX, architecture, security, API, and engineering stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
• Support features through development, testing, deployment, and production.
• Use GitHub Copilot and AI or agentic development tools to improve engineering productivity, code quality, and testing.

Required Qualifications

• 10 years of software development experience, including strong native Android development.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Android SDK, Android Studio, and Jetpack Compose.
• Experience with Coroutines, Flow, View-Model, Navigation, Retrofit, and Hilt/Dagger.
• Strong understanding of MVVM/MVI, Clean Architecture, design patterns, and modular application architecture.
• Experience developing multi-module Android applications.
• Experience integrating REST APIs and JSON-based services.
• Experience with JUnit, Espresso, Compose UI Testing, and automated testing practices.
• Experience with Gradle, Git/GitHub, CI/CD, Jenkins, Artifactory, and static code analysis tools.
• Understanding of TDD, trunk-based development, feature toggles, and modern DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of mobile application security, authentication, accessibility, performance optimization, and secure data handling.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile and cross-functional engineering teams.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.

Compensation

USD 89,600 - 156,700 per yearly.
