The Senior Machine Learning Engineer role at University of Utah Health, within the Innovation Office, centers on designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining and enhancing ML and AI solutions for healthcare informatics, in collaboration with research, medical, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and refactor ML codebases, pipelines, and workflows for the innovation office.
- Collaborate closely with research, medical, and engineering staff to design and implement machine learning approaches.
- Implement scalable ML methods and workflows compatible with high performance computing resources, in close collaboration with research and technical staff.
- Review code produced by peers and provide guidance on best practices, including style guidelines, versioning, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot data analysis issues, encompassing implementation challenges, hyperparameter choices, and modeling decisions.
- Assist in preparing manuscripts and disseminating results through appropriate venues.
- Work independently while maintaining effective communication with team members and stakeholders.
- Develop deployable solutions for the health care system.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- 5 years of experience in software engineering.
