Web Developer
Job Description
Equibase Company LLC is seeking a Web Developer to support the development and operations of the Equibase digital platform, including websites and applications owned and operated by Equibase and its subsidiaries. This onsite role in Lexington, KY focuses on customer experience while helping create opportunities for monetization through ongoing digital initiatives.
You will execute software development work, help maintain electronic platforms, and coordinate closely with management and internal software development staff to keep equibase.com and related digital properties running effectively.
What you will do
- Execute software development initiatives as directed by management.
- Develop, implement, and support new products and services delivered through equibase.com and mobile applications, including timelines and strategies aimed at maximizing sales and branding opportunities.
- Handle day-to-day maintenance of Equibase electronic platforms, including coding, developing, and documenting software specifications across the project life cycle.
- Communicate directly with management and internal software development staff to maintain equibase.com and other company-operated digital platforms.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 2+ years of professional experience in front-end web development using technologies including a Headless CMS architecture, Java Spring Bootstrap for a backend with dynamic data, and AWS hosting architecture.
- Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Hands-on experience with a modern JavaScript framework, such as React or Next.js.
- Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
- Understanding of web performance optimization and accessibility best practices.
- Strong knowledge of working with dynamic API data (JSON, XML) via interface types including REST and SOAP.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage several concurrent projects.
- Detail oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with version control technologies such as Git or SVN.
- Experience with data analysis programs such as R and Python.
- Basic knowledge of the Thoroughbred industry.
