Job Description
SS&C Technologies is seeking a full-stack Software Engineer to support SS&C Financial Services Development. In this role, you will analyze, design, program, and enhance cloud-based applications that help brokerages clear mutual fund subaccounts. The work emphasizes modern development and testing practices, with a focus on security, scalability, and maintainability for private-cloud deployments.
What you’ll do
- Analyze, design, program, and modify software enhancements and/or new products for local, networked, cloud-based, or Internet-related applications.
- Develop applications in a private cloud that supports outsourcing capabilities for brokerages’ mutual fund subaccounts.
- Write code and perform testing and debugging using current programming languages and technologies, applying BDD (Behavior Driven Development) and TDD (Test Driven Development) in a cloud-native approach.
- Create and maintain documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
- Engage with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.
- Follow Software Engineering and Information Security Controls and align work with enterprise architectural strategies.
- Resolve existing software defects and ensure architectural diagrams remain current.
Key qualifications
- Ability to design, build, and maintain modern web applications for internal and external customers.
- Experience developing REST APIs and microservices to integrate with internal and external client systems.
- Agile team experience working with a product owner to define, develop, and estimate user stories and epics.
- Ability to collaborate with BA and QA to create and implement automated BDD tests.
- Focus on ongoing scalability, security, and maintainability of products.
- Computer Science/Engineer related Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree.
- Solid foundation in OOP, data structures, algorithms, and SQL.
- Continuous learning mindset and the ability to learn quickly and apply new skills.
- Flexibility and proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Interest in full-stack work across backend and frontend.
- Familiarity with Git, unit testing, and team development (school projects count).
