Job Description

Google's XR initiative is expanding its software engineering capacity, and the Software Engineer III, Application Developer, XR role sits at the intersection of wearable technology and mobile platforms. Based onsite in San Jose, California, you will develop software across XR and mobile environments, participate in code reviews, update documentation, triage issues, and contribute to design discussions as part of a collaborative engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software for product and system features across XR and mobile platforms.
  • Review peers' code and provide constructive feedback to uphold coding standards, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
  • Update and contribute to documentation and educational materials to reflect product changes and user feedback.
  • Triage issues and debug, track, and resolve them by analyzing root causes and their impact on hardware, networks, or services and overall quality.
  • Join or lead design reviews with teammates and stakeholders to evaluate technology options and make informed decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least two years of experience programming in Java, Kotlin, C++, or Swift.
  • Two or more years of Android application development experience.
