Job Description
Build the Android glasses system UI for Google’s XR/Glasses platform on-site in San Jose, CA. In this Software Developer (iOS) role, you’ll create user-centric experiences and shared system UI services, including AI-powered interfaces, AR interaction flows, notification management, and platform components that support future glasses hardware.
You’ll work closely with UX and Product Management to turn user needs into working prototypes, validate them through user testing, and iterate based on real feedback. The work spans interaction design, applied AI and large language model integration, and performance-aware development for constrained wearable environments.
What you’ll do
- Create end-to-end experiences and foundational platform components, from concept through deployment, including an intuitive home screen and AI agent interfaces that help define the future of the Android glasses platform.
- Design and implement robust shared system UI services that deliver consistent functionality across future glasses hardware.
- Drive innovation in areas such as dynamic widgets, deep AI agent integration, and sophisticated notification management.
- Pioneer and improve augmented reality interaction methodologies in collaboration with machine learning perception specialists to develop intuitive, magical user experiences.
- Partner with UX and Product Management to define and refine experiences, translating user needs into prototypes and running user tests to maximize user benefit.
- Plan and prioritize roadmaps alongside program management, product management, and UX stakeholders.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in one or more of the following: user interactions, Applied AI and large language models, 3D Interfaces, performance analysis.
- 2 years of experience with Swift or other languages/frameworks used in mobile app development.
- Interest and ability to adapt emerging technologies to limited computing contexts such as wearables.
- Proficiency with AI-based workflows and the ability to use systems thinking in your development process.

Compensation & benefits
- Salary: USD 147,000 - 210,000 per year
- Bonus: 15% target
