Software Engineer II

Software Engineer II role based in Cincinnati, onsite, focused on end-to-end application development using React, Java with Spring Boot, SQL, and Terraform, with emphasis on design, testing, integration, and evaluating new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle development of software applications, from planning through deployment and ongoing maintenance.
• Design, implement, and debug applications across stacks, including React on the front end, Spring Boot with Java on the back end, SQL databases, and infrastructure as code with Terraform.
• Perform software analysis activities such as requirements analysis, code metrics assessment, system risk evaluation, and reliability analysis.
• Apply object oriented design and analysis techniques to create robust, reusable software components.
• Model and simulate software behavior to validate designs and performance.
• Develop and refine front end user interfaces with emphasis on usability and visual quality.
• Carry out software testing and quality assurance to ensure reliable, high quality code.
• Tune performance, improve efficiency, and automate processes to enhance overall system responsiveness.
• Support, maintain, and document software functionality to facilitate long term maintenance.
• Integrate new software with existing systems and data flows.
• Evaluate and identify new technologies and approaches for potential adoption.
• Maintain adherence to coding standards and development guidelines.
• Implement localization and globalization to support multi language and regional needs.

Requirements

• Experience in application development as a Software Engineer or similar role.
• Proficiency with AWS services including Lambda and Terraform.
• Strong Java programming skills.
• JavaScript proficiency for modern web development.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with the Spring Boot framework.

Education

• Undergraduate degree in computer engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related discipline.
