Software Engineer

Software Engineer role at NCR in Atlanta, GA focused on delivering sprint feature work, driving testing, and turning business requirements into practical development and release plans.

Responsibilities

• Work with product managers, product owners, UI/UX, and other cross-functional partners
• Participate in technical strategy discussions
• Implement sprint feature stories and unit tests to support high code quality and meet minimum feature test coverage
• Translate business requirements into a development/test/release plan and deliver the solution to the customer on time
• Contribute to an effective software development lifecycle with emphasis on customer support and root cause analysis
• Perform testing based on knowledge of system architecture, interdependencies, and system interactions
• Estimate time and resources required for software development and test activities
• Provide technical leadership and support to internal and external product development teams
• Report project progress on a weekly basis
• Manage and track software defects, coordinating with the development team to drive resolution
• Diagnose and debug issues in the system and downstream dependencies, partnering with other teams to resolve in a timely manner
• Advocate for quality up-front and test driven/behavior driven development, supporting team Definition of Ready and achieving Definition of Done

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (Software Engineering or related technical field) or foreign equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in software development
• 2+ years understanding software architecture and system integration
• 2+ years experience with Object Oriented Programing languages
• 2+ years experience in software verification, validation, and testing
• 1+ year experience mentoring junior developers
• Demonstrated knowledge of agile methodology (knowledge may be shown through education, training and/or experience)
• Demonstrated knowledge of CI/CD tools
• Demonstrated knowledge of version control systems (Git)
• Any combination of education evaluated by a professional credentials evaluation service to be equivalent to a U.S. degree is accepted

• Annual salary range: $128,730 to $174,900
• Offers of employment are conditional upon passage of screening criteria applicable to the job
