Junior Software Engineer

VOCAL Technologies Inc. is seeking a Junior Software Engineer in Buffalo, NY (onsite) to support the development of software solutions for telecommunications challenges. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining software and internal tools used to solve real-world communications problems.

Role Overview

In this position, you will collaborate with customers to deliver solutions aligned to their needs, and contribute to the engineering of software systems addressing telecommunications requirements. Work includes building and maintaining software modules of meaningful scope and complexity, as well as creating supporting tooling for code development and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to deliver solutions that meet and exceed their requirements.
• Design and implement software solutions for telecommunications problems.
• Maintain, improve, and support existing software solutions.
• Code and test software modules with significant size and complexity.
• Create software tools that assist with building and maintaining code.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
• Must be able to obtain Security Clearance.
• Familiarity with C/C++ programming languages.
• Bachelor’s degree (required).

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience with C/C++.
• Experience with Embedded Systems.
• Experience capturing and debugging network traffic.
• Experience with Real Time Operating Systems.
• Experience with Digital Signal Processing algorithms.

Compensation and Job Details

Education
