Job Description

Software Engineer role at Spire Therapeutics focuses on professionalizing and scaling the DIADEM platform's control software and GUI across desktop applications, medical imaging workflows, and clinical deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Professionalize and enhance the MATLAB based control software and GUI for the DIADEM neuromodulation system.
  • Package the MATLAB application into a stable desktop deployment.
  • Port portions or the entire software stack to a modern desktop framework.
  • Improve software architecture, maintainability, reliability, and deployment workflows.
  • Assist with testing, refinement, and validation of MRI free neuronavigation algorithms.
  • Collaborate on computer vision and image processing pipelines using smartphone imagery for anatomical registration and targeting.
  • Support development and debugging of imaging workflows, registration pipelines, and calibration procedures.
  • Contribute to establishing scalable software engineering and testing practices suitable for clinical deployment.

Requirements

  • Proven software engineering experience in desktop applications, scientific computing, or medical systems.
  • Hands on MATLAB development experience.
  • Experience with MATLAB App Designer and MATLAB Compiler.
  • Python proficiency with GUI toolkits (PyQt, PySide, etc.).
  • Strong skills in C++ and C#.
  • Experience with Electron or comparable desktop frameworks.
  • Background in image processing or computer vision.
  • Robust debugging ability and solid software architecture capabilities.
  • Experience working with hardware integrated software systems.
  • Software development experience of 4 years or more.
  • Must be able to commute to Salt Lake City, UT 84108.
