Software Developer - Android

Techximius supports U.S. Army DEVCOM C5ISR Center programs at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, with onsite collaboration in a mission-focused engineering environment. This entry-level Android role is designed for developers who want hands-on experience building and improving mobile applications while working closely with a team that reviews architecture, system requirements, and code together.

Compensation: USD 80,000 - 95,000 per year. Location: Aberdeen, MD (onsite). Travel: up to 5%. Clearance: active security clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Design and build Android platform applications.
• Develop software applications, services, and systems for real-world use.
• Integrate software components into a complex software development environment.
• Collaborate with teammates to review architecture designs, system requirements, and code.
• Work with external data sources and APIs.
• Perform unit testing to ensure robustness, including edge cases, usability, and reliability.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1 to 2 years of software development experience with a focus on Android. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Programming in Java, Kotlin, or C/C++.
• Android development experience, including familiarity with the Android SDK, Android Studio, and the Android ecosystem.
• Strong communication skills, ability to learn independently, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior Department of Defense experience.
• Experience with Linux or Windows.
• Familiarity with web applications or microservices development.
• Familiarity with Army tactical equipment, including tactical radios, commercial off the shelf radios, handheld devices, and vehicle devices.
• Knowledge of network management protocols and data models.
• Familiarity with Agile software development processes.

Education

Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Mathematics.
