Software Developer

InCommodities US is hiring a Software Developer in Austin, TX for a hybrid remote role. The position focuses on building and maturing IT solutions that support North American trading teams, with an emphasis on quality, scalability, and sustainable ownership of trading software.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve software solutions that support US trading activities
• Take ownership of maturing the existing system landscape with a strong focus on quality and scalability
• Ensure new solutions are maintainable, robust, and suitable for a fast-paced trading environment
• Mentor and spar with colleagues to support a high-performance, knowledge-sharing culture
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders, traders, and developers across locations and time zones
• Drive work forward independently when needed
• Communicate clearly and confidently, including challenging the status quo when appropriate
• Bring an analytical, detail-oriented approach to building things the right way
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where priorities evolve
• Maintain curiosity and an open-minded mindset, with ongoing learning and improvement

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience across the full software development lifecycle, from idea to production
• Professional experience with C#
• Strong engineering fundamentals and a quality-conscious mindset
• Experience working in distributed teams and collaborating across time zones
• Analytical and detail-oriented approach, with care for building things the right way
• Curiosity and openness to learning, improving, and keeping up with change
• Clear, confident communication and comfort with challenging the status quo

Preferred / Bonus Skills

• Curiosity about energy trading; prior domain knowledge is a plus, not required
• Experience with Python, or motivation to pick it up
