Software Engineer

MANTECH is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support the San Antonio, TX area. This onsite role focuses on developing, maintaining, and improving complex software systems, including work across modern cloud and container environments as well as web technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems, such as processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems, and business management information systems, based on documented requirements.
• Work independently or collaboratively with a team to review and test software components for alignment with design requirements and to document test results.
• Investigate and resolve software problem reports.
• Apply appropriate software development and software design methodologies for the development environment.
• Provide input to software components of system design, including hardware and software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) solutions instead of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system-level needs to individual software components.

Required Qualifications

• 14+ years of software development experience with a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline. Alternatively, 4 additional years of software engineering experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree.
• Experience containerizing applications for creating, managing, and deployments.
• Experience with Helm Charts and/or Rancher and Kubernetes, including Docker usage, and Flask.
• Proficiency with Linux environments.
• Strong Python development skills.
• Front-end experience with React and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD.
• Experience developing RESTful web applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes NGINX Ingress Controller and Linkerd.
• Experience with C/C++ and/or Rust programming language.
• Experience working with MongoDB.
• Some experience with UI development.
• Basic networking experience.
• Experience with products including Cisco Nexus Dashboard Orchestrator, Cisco APICs, vSphere, VMware Horizon View, IPAM, and Keycloak.
• Experience with Ansible, including running templates (bonus if able to write playbooks).
• Experience with system administration tasking such as certificates, PKI, and troubleshooting.
• Preference for a full-stack engineer capable of handling both front-end and back-end development.

Clearance Requirement

Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Poly.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
• Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets and office machinery.
• Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as the copy machine, fax machine, computer, or printer.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline.
