Job Description
Join Base-2 Solutions onsite in Bethesda, MD to support the NMEC DOMEX Technology Platform and D3P Modernization through containerized full-stack microservices engineering.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, triage, and maintain a production big data pipeline using a microservice architecture on Kubernetes
- Operate Elasticsearch as the search/back-end layer and Kafka for messaging
- Enhance and maintain CI/CD and DevOps scripts and processes
- Design, develop, and support scalable and redundant infrastructure across physical and virtualized environments
- Use Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments aligned to new feature requirements
- Collaborate with systems engineering, architecture, development, security, operations, and integration teams
- Participate in Agile release planning, scrum of scrums, bug triage, design sessions, and related meetings
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain a CI Polygraph
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6 years in the category field
- 3 additional years of experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree
- Strong Linux proficiency
- Hands-on experience with containers and Kubernetes
- Experience with CI/CD orchestration and GitLab
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana
- Demonstrated success working in cross-functional engineering environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating systems at scale
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies
- Development experience with Bash, PowerShell, SALT, Python, Groovy, or Java
- Experience supporting enterprise or production systems
- Familiarity with Kafka or other messaging systems
- Experience with Kubernetes monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
- Familiarity with GPU-based Kubernetes
- Experience with SALT for deployment automation
- Experience with Helm/Helmfile and Nexus
Required Education and Experience Equivalency
- High School Diploma/GED: 9 years of experience
- Associates Degree: 9 years of experience
- Bachelors Degree: 6 years of experience
- Masters Degree: 6 years of experience
- PhD: 6 years of experience
