Job Description

MANTECH is seeking a CNO Software Developer to support national security missions from Columbia, MD (onsite).

Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural design and lifecycle management of CNO capabilities, including best practices for code quality, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing to support mission readiness and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between operational stakeholders and software teams, converting mission requirements into actionable, prioritized technical roadmaps aligned with P.I. goals.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in defensive engineering and detection mechanics; guide the integration of telemetry and validation environments to improve offensive-cyber testing accuracy.
  • Mentor junior staff on low-level debugging, reverse engineering, and secure coding, and develop training materials that connect complex capability frameworks to end-user operational use.
  • Coordinate rapid triage and remediation across multi-disciplinary groups, working with mission analysts and vulnerability researchers to refine deployed capabilities and maintain alignment with evolving mission needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (e.g., Information Systems, Network Engineering) from an accredited college or university.
  • 5+ years of technical work experience in cyber software engineering or specialized technical roles. A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline may be substituted for 2 years of experience.
  • 2+ years experience leading technical initiatives, engineering workflows, or serving as a Tech Lead across multiple simultaneous software development projects.
  • Programming experience in C, C++, Go, Java, or Python.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Networking experience (TCP/IP) and socket-level programming.
  • Containerization experience with Docker and Podman, plus orchestration tool exposure.
  • Hands-on virtualization experience with ESXi, QEMU/KVM, VirtualBox, and Hyper-V, and infrastructure-as-code experience with Vagrant, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • Experience setting up automated testing and CI/CD pipelines designed for restricted software development environments.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical requirements, system architecture, and operational mission requirements to both technical teams and non-technical leadership.
  • Ability to translate advanced capability frameworks into training curricula that are effective across customer audiences with varying technical backgrounds.
  • Experience with low-level platform internals for one or more environments (Windows, Unix, mobile, or network devices).
  • Experience using reverse engineering tools (IDA/Ghidra).
  • Atlassian Tools experience (Confluence, Jira, Crucible).
  • Knowledge of CNO environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging experience.

Clearance Requirements

  • Active and current TS/SCI, polygraph eligible.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
