Software Engineer
Job Description
MANTECH is seeking a Software Engineer to support cybersecurity-focused system work in an onsite role in Philadelphia, PA 19112. In this position, you will contribute to software development and security activities across operational technology and shipboard or lab environments, including DevSecOps and Machine Learning enablement.
What you’ll do
- Provide cybersecurity system software development support to the customer in accordance with the NSWCPD System Engineering Process (SEP), including design and implementation and the development and execution of unit tests for Operational Technology (OT) systems.
- Perform software security analysis on software baselines and source code.
- Establish and maintain configuration control for software, hardware, and containers.
- Support the development and application of Machine Learning techniques to identify cybersecurity-critical data elements from technical documents and other information sources.
- Develop, evaluate, update, and review technical documentation, including manuals, system diagrams, system drawings, signal flow diagrams, logistics documents, data sets, and operating procedures.
- Support development and review of drawing packages representing shipboard and land-based test facility configurations.
- Support design, development, and implementation of DevSecOps solutions for software products deployed to laboratory, test facility, or shipboard environments, including build automation and dependency management tools and static and dynamic vulnerability scanning tools.
Requirements
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems.
- 3+ years of professional experience developing software using one or more high-level languages such as Java, Python, Go, or C++.
- 2+ years of professional experience applying software development methodologies, including Agile and/or DevOps/DevSecOps in a professional or academic setting.
- Must possess an IAT Level II qualifying certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M.
- Must meet at least one of the following:
- 3+ years managing, maintaining, and supporting software build tools and revision control systems.
- 3+ years performing software testing and QA duties (ad-hoc, unit, performance, regression, or smoke testing).
- 3+ years developing software using cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc.) in a professional or academic setting.
- US Citizenship required and an active or current Secret Clearance or ability to obtain prior to starting.
Physical requirements
- Ability to move up/down ladders, along narrow companionways, and lift and carry equipment and tools weighing 25 lbs.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time, with occasional movement inside the office to access file cabinets and office machinery, and to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers via email, phone, and/or virtual means.
