Senior Software Engineer

Senior Software Engineer to support the GSMS SW IPT in a contract role, on-site inside a SCIF in Redondo Beach, CA, focusing on the development and sustainment of mission-operational software across subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Contribute as a C++ software developer within an agile team environment that operates on Red Hat Enterprise Linux infrastructure, including VMs, servers, and workstations.
• Design, implement, and unit-test new software capabilities in accordance with Mathematical Algorithm Requirements (MARs).
• Identify, troubleshoot, and deliver software fixes in response to Discrepancy Reports (DRs).
• Collaborate with SW IPT SMEs and senior staff engineers across multiple software subsystems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5 to 8 years of experience.
• Master's degree in a STEM field with 3 to 6 years of experience.
• PhD in a STEM field with 1 to 4 years of experience.
• An additional four years of relevant software experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Active SSBI required at the time of application, and the ability to obtain SCI prior to the start date.
• Advanced object-oriented programming skills with proficiency in C++.
• Knowledge of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system.
• Demonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
