Senior Software Engineer

ASD Global is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support national security mission efforts tied to Next Generation Ground Systems, Ground Element Modernization (GEM), and software deliveries to operational sites across CONUS and OCONUS. This onsite role in Redondo Beach, CA centers on C++ development within an agile workflow on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, including support for discrepancy report fixes.

What you’ll do

• Work as a C++ software developer in a fast-paced agile team using RHEL VMs, servers, and workstations
• Design, implement, and unit test new software capabilities aligned to Mathematical Algorithm Requirements (MARs)
• Identify issues, troubleshoot, and deliver or hand off software fixes addressing Discrepancy Reports (DRs)
• Collaborate with SW IPT subject matter experts (SMEs) and senior staff engineers across multiple software subsystems

Required qualifications

• Ability to obtain SCI clearance
• Advanced object-oriented programming skills with strong proficiency in C++
• Knowledge of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system
• Demonstrated ability in problem solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making
• U.S. citizen requirement for this position
• DevSecOps Test Automation experience
• Programming and scripting experience including C, C++, Java, Python, and Perl
• Strong background in math and algorithms
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with employees, management, and stakeholders
• Prior participation on an Agile scrum team or familiarity with the Agile process
• Familiarity with the Atlassian Tool Suite including Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, and Bamboo
• Experience developing in a Linux environment using git
• Active SCI security clearance

• Minimum 5 years of experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline
