Job Description
Senior Software Engineer on the Chinook Program at Leidos, onsite in Gaithersburg, MD, designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining mission-critical software for an Intelligence Community customer in an agile environment, requiring TS/SCI clearance.
Responsibilities
- Address tasks as prioritized by the team product owner.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle within well defined parameters.
- Own the delivery of enhancements to a system or application.
- Break down large tasks into manageable units and provide level-of-effort estimates.
- Collaborate with fellow software engineers to craft and document optimal technical designs.
- Ensure the team adheres to Agile processes and best practices.
- Build software solutions when requirements are not clearly defined, consistently prioritizing customer needs.
- Resolve obstacles for the development team by working with the Product Owner, technical leadership, and other engineers.
- Ensure all Scrum events occur in a positive, productive, and timeboxed manner.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with the ability to pass a Polygraph examination.
- US citizenship is required per contract.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 8-12 years of relevant experience.
- Master's degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience as a Scrum Master for a software development or similar technical team.
