Job Description

Uline is hiring a Senior Software Developer - Java for an onsite role in Pleasant Prairie, WI. In this position, you will help drive the development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of sophisticated Java applications, with a focus on quality, performance, and long-term maintainability.

As a senior engineer, you will contribute to application building and optimization, take part in architecture reviews and project planning, and support other developers through code review and mentoring. Uline is a family-owned organization and operates as a major distributor of shipping, industrial, and packaging materials across North America.

What you’ll do

  • Develop, test, and deploy robust Java applications that align with business needs, using industry-leading technologies and coding standards.
  • Perform code reviews, optimize application performance, and help ensure strong responsiveness and overall quality.
  • Support architectural design reviews and project planning by providing technical insights for strategic advancement.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to fellow developers, supporting effective cross-functional development practices.
  • Work with the development team to maintain consistent processes and deliver work on time.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relevant programming education and experience.
  • 7+ years of hands-on Java full stack development, with a strong track record delivering enterprise solutions using the Spring framework.
  • Extensive experience with REST web services and microservice environments, plus practical knowledge of Git, JPA, SQL, JSON, SOAP, XML, and code versioning tools.
  • Working knowledge of caching, service discovery, and CI / CD tools, along with familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Uline does not participate in the H1-B lottery.

Compensation and benefits

  • Salary: USD 96,000 - 148,000 per year
