Senior Java Developer, FX eCommerce, Vice President

Citi is hiring a senior, hands-on Java developer role focused on backend engineering for Citi FX eCommerce and the Citi FX Velocity platform, supporting institutional clients. This position sits within the Technology organization and emphasizes architectural alignment, complex problem solving, and close partnership with product and development teams to deliver trading systems.

Based in Tampa, FL on an onsite basis, the role is full time and carries a USD 142,320 - 213,480 per year salary range. You will lead applications systems analysis and programming activities at a senior level while helping guide design decisions through Citi’s overall architecture blueprint.

What you’ll do

• Partner with multiple management teams to support integration efforts that meet goals, while identifying and defining system enhancements needed to deploy new products and implement process improvements
• Address a range of high impact problems and projects by evaluating complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
• Apply advanced applications programming expertise and ensure application design follows the overall architecture blueprint
• Use advanced understanding of system flow to develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
• Build comprehensive knowledge of how business areas, including architecture and infrastructure, work together to achieve business outcomes
• Perform in-depth analysis using interpretive thinking to define issues and create innovative solutions
• Act as an advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as needed
• Assess risk in business decisions with attention to the firm’s reputation, and safeguard Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations; adhering to Policy; applying sound ethical judgment; and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency

What you bring

• 6-10 years of hands-on Apps Development experience with a Java background
• Extensive experience in system analysis and in programming software applications
• Understanding of multithreaded Java, networks, and how the JVM works
• Experience managing and implementing projects
• Experience developing large scale, resilient systems
• Experience working in low latency solutions
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances change
• Leadership and project management skills
• Clear, concise written and verbal communication
