Senior Java Developer
Job Description
CGI Group, Inc. seeks a Senior Java Developer to support a core system for a large financial client. This hybrid role is based in Cary, NC, with collaboration across business and engineering teams and hands-on work involving Java/J2EE, REST APIs, Spring, Oracle, and relevant financial domain experience.
Responsibilities
- Collect requirements from Business Analysts and document technical approaches.
- Develop application enhancements, perform bug fixes, debug issues, and resolve Oracle performance concerns.
- Apply SDLC concepts across design, coding, testing, and implementation.
- Integrate front-end modules with REST APIs.
- Create unit tests and snapshot tests for components.
- Collaborate with an offshore development team by providing design suggestions, development updates, and status reporting.
- Mentor developers on design and development practices.
- Conduct code reviews and recommend best coding and design practices to the team.
- Provide guidance to support teams during debugging of application issues.
- Support build and deployment of the application across all environments.
- Provide support to QA, UAT, and PROD users.
- Deliver ongoing demos to UAT users and support teams.
- Apply strong technical skills to handle complex architecture and design requirements across scenarios.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in application architecture, design, and development.
- Hands-on application development experience using Java/J2EE frameworks.
- Experience designing and building high-performance, high-availability, scalable distributed applications that support straight-through processing of large data volumes.
- Strong experience designing large systems using modern enterprise architecture and design patterns.
- Development experience with Java 8, Spring, REST, and microservices.
- Strong technical capability to manage complex architecture and design across scenarios.
- Working experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Cloud Storage, BigQuery, GKE, PubSub, and Cloud Functions.
- Oracle proficiency is required.
- Domain experience in one or more areas: Electronic Trading, Fixed Income, Mortgage, Securities, or Loans.

Location and Work Arrangement

Compensation
USD 89,600 to 156,700 per year.
