Position: Senior Applications Developer Specialist (Contract)
Contract: 12 – 24 months with possibility of going direct
Pay: $65.48 per hour
Shift: First Shift / 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Role and Position Objectives

Our DoD and Aerospace client seeks a Senior Applications Developer Specialist for a fully remote, U.S.-based role. The incumbent will design, develop, and support middleware, automation frameworks, and enterprise applications using Java, Python, SQL, AWS, and REST APIs. Work will be conducted in an Agile setting, with contributions to architecture decisions to deliver scalable, mission-critical IT solutions. A Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of applications development experience are required, or a Master's degree with 6 years of experience. U.S. citizenship is required.

Design, develop, and maintain middleware and application integration solutions
Build and enhance automation frameworks and tooling
Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and cross-functional collaboration
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues
Improve development workflows through scripting and tooling enhancements
Lead technical initiatives and contribute to architectural decisions
Mentor team members and promote best practices across the development organization
Create clear technical designs and documentation aligned with business requirements

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field plus 8 years of relevant experience, or
Master’s degree plus 6 years of relevant experience
Equivalent experience will be considered
U.S. Citizenship required

Technologies You’ll Work With

Programming languages: Java, Python, SQL
Cloud and DevOps tools: AWS, AWS CLI, CI/CD pipelines
Development and monitoring tools: Git, Splunk
APIs and integrations: REST services, Windchill REST Services (WRS)
Exposure to AI/ML enabled solutions

What You Bring to the Table

Strong proficiency in Java, Python, SQL, and modern development tools
Experience building data integration frameworks and middleware solutions
Ability to write clean, maintainable code and debug complex systems
Experience working in Agile environments (SAFe, Scrum)
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines
Ability to translate business needs into technical designs and documentation
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
