Senior Appian Developer
Job Description
Senior Appian Developer at E-AIM in a remote consulting role focused on guiding IT solutions and leading Appian platform development, requirements gathering, testing, and remediation.
Responsibilities
- Work with product owners and business analysts to refine user stories by adding precise technical acceptance criteria, ensuring story quality and completeness.
- Estimate effort and complexity for stories and tasks during sprint planning.
- Architect, build, and deploy advanced Appian capabilities, data records/models, and features in line with best practices.
- Champion Design Review, Code Review, and development standards across projects.
- Mentor and lead development teams to deliver high quality solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Appian applications and their integrations.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing sessions and develop internal documentation and training materials.
- Support testing by creating test cases and identifying testing needs.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers and QA engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
- Stay current with the latest Appian features, tools, and industry trends.
- Identify opportunities to enhance processes and continuously improve development practices.
Requirements
- US Citizenship; public sector roles require U.S. citizenship.
- Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of directly relevant industry experience.
- Appian Senior Developer certification or greater.
- Familiarity with Appian testing methodologies.
- Appian experience with 5 years (Required).

Competencies
- Strong understanding of Appian architecture, design patterns, and best practices
- Proficiency in Appian SAIL, process modeling, and integration capabilities
- Experience migrating applications from legacy systems to Appian
- Experience with relational databases, SQL, and web services (REST/SOAP)
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with BA Workflow, Agile Scrum, and Project Management tools (Jira, MS Project, Visio, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and related repositories)
- Working knowledge of Waterfall, Agile Scrum, and Kanban methodologies

- Reports to the Application Modernization lead
Work Environment
- Remote role with a preference for candidates in Dayton, OH or the DC area
- Occasional travel may be required for team meetings and training
- Collaborative work with teams across departments and locations

- Master's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
