Lead Software Engineer/Software Engineer - Digital Measurement
Job Description
State Farm is seeking data-minded software engineering candidates to support the Digital Measurement work within the Digital Insights enablement suite. In this role, you will connect and enable the collection and sharing of digital experience data across the State Farm data ecosystem to support reporting, analytics, and optimization across an omni-channel customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Enable the collection and sharing of digital data to support measurement needs.
- Connect digital experience data into the broader State Farm data ecosystem.
- Ensure a user’s digital journey is represented accurately in data used for reporting, analytics, and optimization.
- Collaborate across multiple product teams to enable collection of user experience data used for analytic insights into product functionality.
Requirements
- 2+ years of software development experience.
- Frontend JavaScript development experience.
- Experience with AWS technology including Lambda, CloudFront, Route53, Eventing frameworks (SNS, SQS), S3, API Gateway, load balancing, VPS, subnets, and security groups.
- Knowledge of building AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
- Knowledge of version control, CI/CD pipeline practices, unit testcases, and DevOps approaches.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts effectively.
- Demonstrated learning agility and a commitment to continuous growth within and beyond the current role.
- Ability to apply broad technical acumen to an iterative delivery approach.
- Drive for results.
- Ability to adapt and support innovation, encourage diversity of thought, and incorporate new ideas.
- Experience with web page tagging and tracking, native Android and iOS application tagging, script development and testing, jQuery development, Java Script, CSS manipulation, HTML, and browser tooling (Chrome, FireFox, Edge, and similar) with developer tools.
- Experience with single-page architecture such as Ember, Angular, React, or similar.
- Demonstrated usage of AI tools to identify efficiencies, act as a thought partner for innovation, perform data validation, and assist with code development.

Preferred Qualifications
- Git and CI/CD infrastructure experience using GitHub, GitLab, or similar tools.
- Containers and container-based APIs using Docker or Kubernetes.
- API development experience using Java and Spring boot.
Location and Work Model
Location: Bloomington, IL (hybrid).
Hybrid arrangement: Qualified candidates (in or near hub locations) should plan to spend time working from home and some time working in the office as part of the hybrid work environment. Hybrid work for Enterprise Technology is defined as residing with a 180-mile radius of the hubs and Corporate.
Hub locations: Dunwoody, GA; Richardson, TX; Tempe, AZ; Bloomington, IL.
Compensation
- Potential starting salary range: USD 97,000 to 160,000 per year.
- Potential yearly incentive pay: up to 15% of base salary.
