Junior Developer
Job Description
Secure24 is seeking a motivated Junior PHP Developer to join its on-site team in Earth City, Missouri. The role centers on modernizing an internal CRM by migrating to CodeIgniter 4, offering hands-on exposure to both legacy and modern PHP applications. Reporting to the Director of Technology, you will collaborate with senior developers on meaningful projects, with an annual salary ranging from USD 58,000 to 65,000.
Responsibilities
- Support the modernization of legacy PHP applications through a CodeIgniter 4 migration
- Refactor code to establish a clean, maintainable MVC structure
- Build and maintain features for the internal CRM system
- Assist with REST API integrations and development efforts
- Collaborate with MySQL or MariaDB databases to optimize performance
- Diagnose and fix issues in production environments
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team development efforts
- Learn about and contribute to architectural improvements and new feature development
- Support automation of business processes and operational workflows
Requirements
- 1–2 years of professional PHP development experience, or equivalent internship or project work
- Foundational experience with PHP frameworks, such as CodeIgniter, Laravel, or similar MVC frameworks
- Solid understanding of object‑oriented programming principles
- Familiarity with MySQL or MariaDB databases
- Experience working with REST APIs
- Basic Git version control knowledge
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Motivation to learn and operate within complex business systems
