eTags.com, based in Fort Lauderdale, is in search of a senior level full stack developer who can own the design, development, and optimization of web applications across the entire technology stack. This hybrid role blends hands-on coding with cloud infrastructure, requiring a proactive engineer who can troubleshoot production issues and drive performance improvements in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
The position emphasizes building robust backend services with PHP and CodeIgniter, crafting responsive front ends, and leveraging AWS to deliver scalable and secure software solutions. The successful candidate will contribute across the lifecycle, from architecture and reviews to deployment and ongoing optimization.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain end-to-end web applications across the full stack.
- Build and enhance backend systems using PHP and CodeIgniter.
- Create and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services.
- Design responsive, user-friendly front-end interfaces.
- Model, optimize, and maintain databases with a focus on performance and integrity.
- Deploy, monitor, and sustain applications within AWS environments.
- Troubleshoot issues across application, server, database, and infrastructure layers.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established standards.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural and technical decisions.
- Apply application security best practices and manage access controls.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, designers, QA, and other developers throughout the SDLC.
- Support continuous improvement efforts, including performance tuning and reducing technical debt.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in PHP (versions 5.x through 8.x).
- Extensive experience with CodeIgniter.
- Solid understanding of MVC architecture and standard design patterns.
- Experience building, consuming, and maintaining RESTful APIs.
- Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms, including JWT and OAuth.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and services.
- Proven debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- HTML, CSS, and JavaScript proficiency.
- Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
- Familiarity with AJAX and jQuery; exposure to Vue.js, React, or Angular.
- Strong MySQL and/or MariaDB experience with normalized database design and performance tuning.
- Understanding of indexing, data integrity, and database security best practices.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, RDS, S3, and CloudWatch.
- Working knowledge of IAM roles, AWS security best practices, and AWS networking fundamentals.
- Experience with environment configuration, deployment management, and application monitoring in AWS.
- Proficiency with Git and modern source control workflows.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Experience working in Linux server environments and understanding of logging and performance management.

eTags is aiming to add an experienced Full Stack Developer who brings strong PHP, CodeIgniter, MySQL, and AWS capabilities to the team. The role involves designing, building, maintaining, and optimizing web applications across the entire technology stack, with an emphasis on leveraging AWS to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions. This is a hands-on position that requires independent problem-solving, production troubleshooting, performance improvements, and collaboration with designers, QA, and other developers to deliver critical software.
Preferred qualifications
- AWS Certified Developer Associate or AWS Solutions Architect certification.
- Experience with Docker and containerized deployments.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, ECS, or EKS.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Background in microservices architecture.
- Experience with serverless technologies, such as AWS Lambda.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
