Job Description

Emergent Software is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain data infrastructure that supports reporting, analytics, and business decision-making. This hybrid role in Iowa City focuses on scalable ETL and ELT pipelines, dependable datasets, and ongoing collaboration with technical and business teams.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines used for enterprise reporting and analytics.
Integrate data from ERP, manufacturing, and business systems into centralized data platforms.
Build and manage scalable data workflows spanning extraction, transformation, and loading.
Develop and maintain data models, testing frameworks, and technical documentation.
Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot issues related to data quality, schema, and workflow execution.
Partner with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
Automate manual processes to improve data delivery efficiency.
Support data accuracy, consistency, security, and reliability across systems.
Stay current with emerging data engineering technologies and best practices.

Requirements

Strong experience building and supporting production data pipelines.
Proficiency in SQL and Python.
Experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

The University of Iowa is seeking a Senior Application Developer to join the Information Management HR Team in Iowa City. This hybrid role focuses on designing and building enterprise HR applications, crafting integrations, and delivering secure, maintainable software that supports campus operations across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

Design and develop web services and applications to meet enterprise needs.
Create and support integrations that connect disparate systems.
Extend vended solutions across a range of subject areas.
Collaborate closely with HR business stakeholders to translate requirements into secure, maintainable enterprise applications throughout their lifecycle.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Extensive experience (typically 5+ years) designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise web applications with minimal technical direction.
Proficiency with web development languages such as Java, C#, Ruby, or PHP (PHP experience preferred).
