Job Developer/Business Relations Specialist

In the role of Developer/Business Relations Specialist, you will serve as the bridge between businesses seeking talent and job seekers pursuing integrated employment, building durable partnerships that support inclusive hiring and long-term workforce success.
Responsibilities
- Conduct targeted employer outreach through in-person visits and regular follow-up.
- Develop and sustain high-value, long-term relationships with clients, local businesses, and community partners.
- Market employment services professionally, educating local employers on the value and best practices of hiring individuals with diverse needs.
- Act as a trusted advisor to businesses, understanding their hiring needs to secure successful, lasting matches.
- Perform in-depth client discovery to capture each person’s skills, interests, and career goals.
- Develop individualized, strengths-based employment plans and deliver targeted job-readiness training (resume writing, interview prep, workplace etiquette).
- Identify and secure specific job opportunities that align with client goals before placement.
- Assist clients with completing job applications and follow up with employers in person after submission.
- Arrange interviews and advocate for clients throughout the hiring process.
- Provide ongoing communication, troubleshooting, and mentoring to both employers and hired individuals to ensure successful, long-term workforce integration and strong business relationships.
- Collaborate closely with internal employment specialists, support teams, and community resources such as the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR).
- Creatively problem-solve employment barriers with a high level of professionalism.
- Manage your own weekly schedule independently to satisfy hours for each person served.
- Maintain meticulous, accurate, and timely records of client progress, case notes, services delivered, and time worked.
- Participate in scheduled staff meetings and complete all required organizational training.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old with a High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation for daily community outreach.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and comply with a drug-free workplace policy.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with comfort in cold outreach and B2B networking.
- Strong time-management skills and the autonomy to work productively in the field.
