This is an onsite role in North, SC. Telecommuting or remote positions are not available. Client projects typically run 6 to 18 months with the possibility of extensions, and relocation to new cities or states is mandatory for assignments.
What you’ll do
- Design, develop, and enhance applications for either iOS or Android.
- Maintain performance, quality, and responsiveness across the app experience.
- Collaborate with a team to define, design, and implement new features.
- Identify bottlenecks, fix bugs, and keep code quality high over time.
- Suggest improvements for existing applications.
- Work with clients to gather requirements and keep expectations aligned.
- Provide accurate project milestones and timelines, updating stakeholders promptly when changes occur.
- Maintain consistent communication using phone, text, and email.
- Complete coding tests or challenges when required.
- Support on-time delivery while maintaining a positive client rapport.
What you bring
- 1 to 2 years of experience (minimum 1 year required).
- Comfort relocating to new cities or states for client assignments, typically 6 to 18 months, with possible extensions.
- Strong understanding of MVC / MVVM architectural patterns.
- Android: Java and Kotlin (at least 1 year). Published at least 1 application on the Play Store.
- Experience with Android SDK, Android versions, and screen size adaptability.
- Testing frameworks such as Espresso and JUnit.
- Mobile data storage using SQLite and Room.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs for back-end integration.
- Source control comfort with GIT and SVN.
- iOS: Swift and Objective-C (at least 1 year each), plus experience with iOS frameworks such as Core Data, Cocoa touch, Combine & Core Animation.
- Knowledge of design patterns including MVC and Singleton.
- Thorough understanding of offline storage, threading, and performance optimization.
- RESTful API knowledge for connecting iOS apps to back-end services, and experience integrating third-party APIs (e.g., Facebook, Dropbox).
- Familiarity with UI/UX standards and Apple’s design principles.
- Knowledge of C-based libraries preferred, plus experience with performance and memory tuning tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong self-leadership and work ethic.
- A portfolio featuring impactful application releases is a significant advantage.
Compensation & employment details
- Compensation: USD 30 to 40 per hour (or $60k to $85k salary, depending on experience).
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Type: W2 or Contract 1099.
- Location: North, SC (onsite). No remote positions available.
- Relocation: Paid relocation is provided; mandatory for assignments.
