Cleared UI/UX Software Engineer - Expert

Sunfire Solutions is seeking a Cleared UI/UX Software Engineer (Expert) to design and implement web-based solutions for teams working on complex technical challenges. This is an onsite role in Fairfax, VA and requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with active poly. If you enjoy building production-ready interfaces and shaping system architecture alongside engineers and stakeholders, this role aligns with strong front-end and full-stack ownership.

Salary for this position is $190,000 - $240,000 per year.

Responsibilities

• Spend the majority of time coding or delivering technical solutions with a team of engineers.
• Write clean, professional code and encourage similar engineering practices across the team.
• Design technical solutions based on broadly scoped requirements.
• Analyze user experience, interactions, and usability to build effective interfaces.
• Create UI consistency through component reuse, theming, and style guides.
• Collaborate with other engineers on system architecture, UI/UX concerns, and application design elements.
• Troubleshoot and debug technical issues.
• Share technical knowledge with other developers.
• Partner with stakeholders and management to gather requirements, take the lead on technical challenges, and mentor junior team members.
• Work independently with minimal supervision, communicate effectively, stay organized, and provide detailed technical analysis.

Requirements

• Active US Government Security Clearance: TS/SCI with active poly
• 10+ years of demonstrated software engineering experience in a front-end or full-stack capacity
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Willingness to take on challenges and learn new things
• Desire to stay at the forefront of the field
• Ability to work both independently and in groups
• BS/BA in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript, HTML, CSS (Less/Sass), and modern frameworks such as Vue.js, React, and Angular
• Experience designing high-fidelity wireframes, mockups, and UI prototypes
• Extensive knowledge of REST APIs, JSON processing, and JSON Web Tokens
• Experience with NPM and Node.js
• Knowledge of advanced web topics including worker threads, web sockets, and storage APIs
• Knowledge of OO design patterns and software architectural patterns
• Familiarity with Linux and AWS services and cloud deployments
