AWS Lead Software Engineer-Full Stack/Java/SpringBoot

Responsibilities

• Designs and troubleshoots innovative software solutions, applying nontraditional approaches to solve complex problems and craft effective architectures.
• Hands-on development of secure, production-ready code; conducts code reviews and debugging for peers.
• Identifies and automates the remediation of recurring issues to boost stability across applications and systems.
• Conducts evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectures, credentials, and integration fit within existing information architecture.
• Helps lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of cutting-edge technologies.
• Promotes enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, including AI-assisted code review, refactoring, test strategy acceleration, and incident analysis; establishes consistent validation standards and promotes reuse of effective patterns.
• Leverages SDLC tooling, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to maximize automation value.
• Contributes to a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.

Requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with five or more years of practical experience.
• Hands-on development experience with Java, Spring Boot, JPA, SQL, and REST.
• Experience building event-driven architectures using Kafka.
• Proven track record building RESTful backends with Spring Boot and enterprise relational databases, including Oracle.
• Proficiency with version control systems (Git or similar).
• Solid understanding of CI/CD practices with tools such as Jenkins.
• Practical expertise in system design, application development, testing, and maintaining operational stability.
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Proven leadership in applying approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, test acceleration, and troubleshooting, with ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for accuracy, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security standards; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
• Solid understanding of cross-cutting concerns such as application resiliency and security.
