ERS offers a competitive onsite opportunity in Austin, TX for a Senior level PeopleSoft Developer, with a salary range of $6,440.18 to $9,583.33 per month. Responsibilities
- Develop complex, high quality source code to deliver complete applications within deadlines.
- Design, test and debug advanced PeopleSoft programs including SQR, Application Engine, PeopleCode, COBOL and related components.
- Interpret client requirements and translate them into concrete application features.
- Lead advanced analysis and development across all ERS PeopleSoft applications and modules.
- Plan and execute unit and integration tests, perform functional and non functional testing, troubleshoot and debug.
- Participate in on call or after hours work as needed and handle other duties as assigned.
- Manage project activities, coordinate systems integration, plan programming efforts, evaluate proposed applications and provide technical guidance.
- Maintain data integrity within Benefits Administration, Pension Administration, Core HR and Financials PeopleSoft areas.
- Prepare detailed analyses, plans, diagrams and technical design documents for existing and proposed applications.
- Recommend technical solutions to improve business processing efficiency for existing or new processes.
- Demonstrate developed functionality to agency staff and provide guidance during implementation.
- Estimate level of effort for changes or enhancements in response to user requirements, mandates and new releases.
- Ensure quality control by adhering to ERS standards and meeting user requirements.
- Offer technical advice to management and staff on PeopleSoft benefits administration, pension administration, core HR and financial development.
- Collaborate with IT professionals to define specifications for new applications.
- Mentor other ERS programmers and share knowledge with consulting resources as needed.
- Design and implement methods that better meet agency needs and identify areas for improvement, maintenance and tuning.
- Contribute to standards, procedures and guidelines related to information systems.
- Troubleshoot data-related issues and assist users with inquiries.
- Assist business analysts in defining projects, assessing feasibility and providing estimates.
- May lead project teams, guiding other developers and reporting status and blockers to management as needed.
- Maintain regular attendance in line with agency policies and comply with all applicable procedures and safety standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year college or university in data processing, computer science, business or a related field; qualifying experience may substitute for education.
- Three to five years of PeopleSoft development experience with HRMS, Benefits Administration, Pension Administration and/or Financials modules.
- Three to five years of development work using PeopleSoft PeopleTools.
- Three to five years of SQL experience with an Oracle database.
- Three to five years of experience writing SQR programs.
- Three to five years of PeopleSoft Application Engine programming.
