Job Description

The Senior Java Full Stack Developer will be based on site in Boston, MA, contributing across the full technology stack with roughly 30 percent front-end work and 70 percent back-end development, from UI requirements through to the database and ORM layer.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Business Analysts to interpret requirements and translate them into design and implementation plans
Develop source code according to specifications
Create unit test cases and participate in quality assurance activities
Support functional and system integration testing, and assist with deployment
Integrate component designs across modules
Provide production support as needed and adhere to development timelines

Requirements

Proficiency in Java and J2EE with experience in multi-threading using core libraries such as the Executor framework
Experience with Spring, Spring MVC, Hibernate, and MyBatis
Experience designing and implementing RESTful web services
Familiarity with application servers and platforms such as JBoss, Apache, Tomcat, and WebSphere
Strong skills in Java, JavaScript, JSP, CSS, and HTML
Knowledge of AJAX techniques and modern JavaScript libraries like jQuery
Experience with XML, XSLT, and JSON
Solid understanding of SQL database design and stored procedures
Ability to develop cross-browser and cross-platform compatible solutions
Sound awareness of non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, maintainability, and security

Role and Work Setup

Job Description

SSI is looking for a Calypso Principal Software Engineer to steer the design and delivery of software solutions for the banking industry, with a fully remote work arrangement. This role partners with engineering teams and architecture leadership to pursue innovative initiatives while applying Agile practices across projects.

Responsibilities

Operate within an organization transitioning to Agile, following established best practices and collaborating closely with teammates.
Contribute to solution design discussions, balancing product success with adherence to enterprise architecture standards.
Design, modify, develop, and implement software solutions.
Build modern, architecturally sound components, tools and applications to support strategic business goals.
Incorporate quality attributes such as scalability, manageability and maintainability into distributed service-based frameworks to enable new capabilities.
Apply industry best practices to identify, remediate, and prevent vulnerabilities throughout the software development life cycle.
Act as a peer leader, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability while following Agile practices.

Requirements

At least seven years of directly related experience supporting Nasdaq Calypso platforms and infrastructure.
A proven ability to lead and mentor software engineers.
Extensive experience configuring, implementing and testing OTC derivatives products across the trading lifecycle, including front, middle and back-office processing.
Hands-on experience configuring and extending Calypso modules for interest rates, commodities, FX, FX options and equity derivatives.
Strong understanding of collateral management, general ledger accounting, ISDA SIMM and SWIFT processing.
Hands-on integration experience between Calypso and market utilities such as DTCC SDR, FedWire, Bloomberg, AcadiaSoft, TriResolve, along with market data sources and risk platforms.
Experience developing or supporting applications using WebSphere, Java, Spring Boot, MQ, ETL and API development.
Experience on UNIX, Oracle SQL, PostgreSQL or Linux platforms.
Proficiency across multiple programming languages, including Java, JavaScript, HTML, Python, Angular and Unix shell scripting.
Experience with AWS cloud services and DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket, Nexus, Jenkins, Terraform or equivalents).
Cloud certification such as AWS Solutions Architect.
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with Apache, Lucene, Memcache, RabbitMQ and NoSQL technologies.
