Location: Lafayette, LA (hybrid) or Knoxville, TN • Salary: USD 80,600 - 176,300 per year • Experience: 5+ years • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other technical discipline.
Responsibilities
- Author and review web application code in Java, JavaScript, Spring, Angular, and SQL.
- Engage in daily team discussions and code collaboration to maintain steady progress.
- Participate in client, industry, and end-user conversations to provide a technical viewpoint on the application.
- Contribute to technical design sessions to create sustainable, high performing features with accurate estimates and timelines.
- Pursue continuous improvement of development tools and technologies.
- Write automated tests for the application to ensure quality and reliability.
- Augment and improve system architecture to support scalable solutions.
- Apply understanding of database design and optimize backend data access.
- Interact directly with clients and end users to understand software needs and discuss architectural decisions.
- Help define and code the ongoing architecture and development of a Java/Spring application.
Requirements
- Strong Java development background with full stack expertise including modern Angular versions.
- Experience with the Spring framework.
- Familiarity with RESTful web services and using them to support dynamic UI.
- Knowledge of software development best practices and the Agile lifecycle.
- Experience with SQL and database tools to design and support backend web applications.
- Ability to code and organize applications using best practices while sharing knowledge to grow the team’s skills.
- Minimum 5 years of web application development experience.
- Strong understanding of modern Java, Angular, JavaScript, and SQL coding practices.
- Ability to work independently and in a dynamic team, delivering quality code for review and demonstrations.
- Experience with modern development tools such as Maven, Git, Tomcat, Eclipse, Bamboo, etc.
- Effective communication with internal teams and customers.
- Capacity to quickly research, learn, and apply emerging technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or another technical discipline.
