Student Finance Systems Programmer/Developer

Covista is seeking a Student Finance Systems Programmer/Developer to deliver system, reporting, and analytics solutions that support accurate, timely outcomes aligned with business priorities. The role bridges business and technology teams while contributing to requirements definition, software enhancements, and project delivery.

Compensation

USD 65,000 - 100,000 per year

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as an IT contact and interface for business stakeholders.
• Develop requirements and specifications for enhancements to existing applications.
• Participate with project teams involved in defining, developing, acquiring, and implementing new software applications.
• Maintain a standard level of user documentation.
• Support user acceptance testing by assisting with test plan development and certifying test results.
• Review proposed technology initiatives generated within business units.
• Help ensure initiative business cases align with the division’s strategic plan and assist with ROI documentation development.
• Support business operations in using information systems to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with external vendors and internal users during development and implementation, including issue resolution, capturing additional requirements aligned with SDLC gates, and risk identification and management.
• Manage competing deliverables to meet business commitments and meet expectations of Development Manager and Project Manager roles, while monitoring and reporting ongoing project status.
• Support team data and reporting initiatives, ensuring consistent data standards and practices across business units.
• Work with system developers to translate business requirements into scalable, user-friendly applications.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field and/or equivalent industry experience.
• 2+ years of IT/Software Development business analysis experience.
• SQL writing/coding and GCP usage.
• Strong experience modifying and supporting custom .NET desktop applications (WinForms and WPF) built with C# and VB.NET, including development against SQL Server databases.
• Experience with higher education.
• Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce.com and RightNow, along with SDLC knowledge and exposure.
