Job Description

CrowdStrike is hiring a senior-to-principal backend software engineer to help build Fusion platform capabilities that power orchestration and workflows across the Falcon Platform ecosystem. In this hybrid role based in Sunnyvale, CA, you will contribute to cloud-native microservices, high-scale event processing, and the reliability and performance needed for production systems.

This Level 7 position focuses on delivering fault-tolerant services and strengthening the event-driven backbone behind customer workflows, using modern streaming and distributed systems technologies.

What you’ll do

  • Build highly fault tolerant Golang microservices to add features to Fusion and its supporting ecosystem
  • Support ultra-high volume Kafka event pipelines that manage customer workflows
  • Work with technologies including Apache Kafka, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Redis, and more
  • Collaborate on cross-team platform-level initiatives and projects
  • Troubleshoot critical production issues and implement durable solutions

What you’ll bring

  • Experience building streaming platforms at scale (CrowdStrike processes over a trillion events per day)
  • At least 7 years of overall applicable technical experience (average years of experience cited: 10-16 Yrs)
  • 5+ years of recent experience building an event-driven, microservices-oriented architecture
  • Expert knowledge of one or more backend languages: Go, Scala, Java, Node.js, or Python
  • Proven expertise building distributed systems, microservices, and REST APIs
  • Production experience with commercial clouds: AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience using both SQL and No-SQL databases
  • Proven experience using AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes

Compensation and location

  • Location: Sunnyvale, CA (hybrid)
  • Salary range: USD 164,000 - 295,000 per year
