Sr. Software Engineer II, AI on Sensor
Job Description
As a Sr. Software Development Engineer II on CrowdStrike’s CTIO team, you’ll help build practical AI capabilities for CrowdStrike Falcon Host’s next-generation sensor. The work spans macOS, Linux, and Windows, combining on-endpoint machine learning, telemetry data pipelines, and cross-platform sensor feature integration. You’ll partner with teams across the company to shape architecture and deliver capabilities end to end.
Falcon Host is a two-component security product: a client-installed “sensor” observes system activity, recognizes malicious behavior, and supports on-box prevention with remote telemetry back to the Falcon Host cloud. The cloud component aggregates telemetry across each customer’s network, correlates malicious behavior across machines, and presents operations teams with a prioritized summary of detected threats.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with sensor development teams across the company on architecture and strategic initiatives.
- Conceptualize and develop new product features.
- Guide development teams designing and implementing cross-platform software delivery for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Own features through the full lifecycle, from initial design to final delivery, including presenting product demonstrations at the end of each sprint.
- Work in cross-functional collaboration with teams located in multiple locations.
What you’ll bring
- Deep knowledge of C/C++.
- MacOS-focused candidates: Swift experience required.
- Windows-focused candidates: Windows OS Kernel and Driver Development experience required.
- Hands-on experience operationalizing machine learning models on the endpoint, including building data pipelines that collect, transform, and deliver sensor telemetry for model training, evaluation, and on-device inference.
- Extensive understanding of internals for your primary platform (macOS, Linux, or Windows).
- Proven debugging experience for issues such as memory corruption, process contentions, and system performance bottlenecks.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with teams to deliver major features and releases.
- Ability to lead, mentor, communicate, collaborate, and operate effectively within a geographically distributed team.
