Job Description

Sierra Management and Technologies Inc is building and operating real-time, scalable software systems for customers, with delivery practices grounded in DevOps. This Mid-level Software Developer role is based in California, MD (onsite) and centers on leading .NET application development while improving performance, reliability, and maintainability across the full software lifecycle.

If you have hands-on experience with modern development workflows, databases, and CI/CD toolchains, this position focuses on translating requirements into well-structured systems and supporting production-ready deployments.

What you will do

  • Lead the development, testing, and maintenance of .NET applications.
  • Architect and implement complex, scalable, reliable software solutions with a focus on high performance and low latency.
  • Oversee the full development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment, using DevOps best practices.
  • Develop and maintain real-time, multitasking, and interrupt-driven applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues.
  • Create solutions aligned with client expectations and requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and architecture discussions to support high-quality engineering.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and user manuals.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, including AWS, CI/CD, and UX development.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of recent experience in .NET software development, including direct experience developing to specific customer requirements.
  • 3+ years with Low code / No code solutions such as Power Automate, Power BI, and SharePoint.
  • 3+ years with SQL Server or similar relational database systems.
  • 3+ years with any JavaScript framework.
  • Proven ability designing and developing complex software systems.
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and Docker.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Experience leading technical teams and mentoring junior engineers in software development practices.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with DBAs, product managers, and quality assurance teams.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to obtain an AWS certification (Cloud Practitioner at minimum).
  • Ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and be able to obtain a security clearance.

Compensation and schedule

  • $100,000 - $135,000 per year
  • Onsite in California, MD
  • Work schedule flexibility and remote or hybrid opportunities may be available depending on the role
