Job Description

CAMP Digital, part of Digital Local & Home Services, LLC, is looking for a Senior Web Developer to provide client-facing technical leadership, optimize performance, and scale a portfolio of 300+ WordPress sites. This onsite role in Edina, Minnesota offers a salary between $70,000 and $75,000 per year and a collaborative environment where cross-functional teams partner to drive technical initiatives, mentor peers, and deliver reliable, high-performance websites.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee WordPress and Elementor work across a large portfolio, maintaining, updating, and optimizing 300+ sites using Elementor Pro and advanced configuration strategies.
  • Build and manage API integrations that connect WordPress ecosystems with external apps, CRMs, marketing automation platforms, and third‑party services via custom integrations and webhooks.
  • Guard database health and scalability across the network, monitoring performance and ensuring fast queries and structural stability under high traffic.
  • Own end-to-end site performance improvements, analyzing and resolving bottlenecks to achieve top-tier Core Web Vitals scores across sites.
  • Implement advanced technical SEO and analytics setups, including schema markup, crawl optimization, GA4, GTM, and custom data layers, while preserving site speed.
  • Engage directly with clients to understand needs, explain technical concepts clearly, and translate engineering details into actionable business insights.
  • Coordinate with designers, marketers, and account managers to align technical execution with broader project goals.
  • Identify and resolve technical or logistical roadblocks to keep multi-site projects on schedule.
  • Lead portfolio-wide initiatives, establish workflows, maintain code quality, and mentor junior and mid‑level developers.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain constraints, solutions, and strategies to both non-technical clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven project management aptitude, capable of handling timelines and prioritizing tasks across a large portfolio under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, with a track record of methodically addressing complex roadblocks.
  • Enterprise-level WordPress experience, including managing and scaling a substantial site portfolio.
  • Advanced proficiency with Elementor Pro, including dynamic content integration, loop builders, and template optimization.
  • API expertise with the WordPress REST API, external REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, and authentication protocols (OAuth, JWT).
  • Deep database optimization knowledge for MySQL/MariaDB, including indexing, query tuning, and scalable cleanup.
  • Extensive experience with page speed optimization, caching (Redis/Memcached), asset minification, critical CSS, and CDN management.
  • Strong coding proficiency in PHP, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and version control with Git.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior formal experience in leadership roles such as Team Lead, Technical Project Manager, or Engineering Manager.
