Web Developer

The Web Developer at Blue Learning will partner with the Project Manager and Creative Director to consult with clients, design and code web presence, and support ongoing development, revisions, and maintenance. In this onsite role in Lewisville, TX, you will help bring the digital customer journey to life in alignment with the Marketing department.

What you’ll do

• Work closely with the Project Manager under the direction of the Creative Director.
• Consult with the client (along with the Project Manager) to understand the vision, requirements, and purpose of the web presence or digital journey.
• Provide daily progress updates to the Project Manager for each project.
• Design and code web presence using established software development practices.
• Manage web presence related to new development, revisions, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with internal and external professionals to deliver each project’s vision.
• Design and implement the digital customer journey based on Marketing needs and strategy.
• Partner with the Creative Director and Graphic Designer on layout and aesthetic design.
• Write well designed, testable, efficient code, following best practices.
• Create website layout and user interface using standard HTML/CSS practices.
• Use AI-powered tools to support coding, debugging, documentation, and research while maintaining ownership of quality and accuracy.
• Stay current on emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to improve workflows, productivity, and user experience.
• Integrate data from back-end services and databases.
• Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs.
• Create and maintain software documentation.
• Maintain, expand, and scale client sites.
• Stay aligned with emerging technologies and industry trends and apply them to operations.
• Coordinate with graphic designers to match visual design intent.
• Deliver high-quality results by deadline that match the client’s vision and strategic goals.
• Translate market research into effective creative strategies with input from other team members to meet defined goals.
• Manage multiple tasks by planning ahead and using time effectively.
• Maintain accuracy and timeliness across all work.
• Keep a supervisor or team leader informed of situations that may require proactive management.
• Properly maintain equipment, contribute to better office systems, and use office resources economically without reducing quality.
• Treat confidential information with extreme care.
• Work independently and as part of a team to establish project deliverables.
• Collaborate with internal staff and stakeholders to help facilitate multimedia content creation.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University in the area of web development.

Requirements

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, WordPress, and WordPress Plugins.
• Understanding of JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, and DNS configurations.
• Knowledge of programming language and technical terminology.
• Proven working experience in web development.
• Solid understanding of how web applications work, including security, session management, and best development practices.
• Adequate knowledge of relational database systems, Object Oriented Programming, and web application development.
• Hands-on experience with network diagnostics and network analytics tools.
• Basic knowledge of the Search Engine Optimization process.
• Aggressive problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within timelines and budgets, with business acumen.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly, and master diverse web technologies and techniques.
• Advanced comprehension of a complex Digital Asset Management System.
• Ability to work with agility and effectiveness within complex projects and under tight deadlines.
• Creative and technical problem solver who can translate abstract concepts into effective visual form.
• Develop and optimize workflow techniques to manage complex video projects effectively and efficiently.
• Ability to write and speak clearly, concisely, and effectively; meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• Research and stay current on state of the art web technology developments and applications.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to establish project deliverables.
• Preferred: 2+ years of professional web development experience.
• Preferred: 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Preferred: Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator experience.
• Properly maintain equipment and keep an orderly and organized operation; participate in and contribute to creation of better office systems.
